The Top 10 Safest Cities To Visit

When travelling it is important to make sure you are visiting a safe destination. Safety is a very important part of travel and if you are travelling you should be sure to check out one of the top 10 safest cities! 

10. Melbourne, Australia

Melbourne, just like Australia is a very safe place to travel. With very low crime rates for robbery and violet crime this is a great city to walk around in and feel safe. This is also a very safe city to travel for families and for women. However, it is important to note Melbourne does have a lot of natural disaster occurrences so it is best to plan a trip when the risk is lower. 

9. Toronto, Canada

As the largest city in Canada and one of the largest in North America, Toronto has a reputation for being a safe city. Similar to Melbourne, the robbery and violent crimes are much lower then average. However, due to Toronto’s large population and the extended metro area, there will be areas where crime is higher than others.

8. Québec City, Canada

Quebec City is one of the safest cities in North America  and there should not many worries about any type of violent crime in the city. The violent crimes in the area are so few and far between that there is no “dangerous” part to visit. The only issue with crime in Quebec City is on the public transport, but it is very rare.

Aalborg is one of the world’s safest cities in terms of local crime. There are few robberies and violent crime is nearly non existent.  The only thing to worry about regarding crime in Aalborg is crime from the rest of Europe. However this is not a major concern.

Trondheim is, like Norway, a very safe destination to visit. Many residents of Trondheim are friendly, and it is very safe to walk around alone – even at night. The only thing to note about crime is to stay away from bars at night, as some bar fights might occur.

As the capital of the island of Tasmania in Australia, Hobart is one of the most isolated cities, but this contributes to an extremely low crime rate. However similar to many cities in Australia, there are some moderate concerns of floods and fires throughout the city.

While crime is extremely low in Nagasaki and the majority of Japan, the major concern is natural disasters. There is a high risk of earthquakes in this area and before planning your trip, you should do your research on how to prepare.

The Hague is also one of the safest cities in Europe, with very low violent and property crimes. The only risk is pickpocketing, which is common throughout Europe.

Helsinki is one of the cleanest and healthiest cities in the world, with some of the most unique policies. There is no major risk for crime in Helsinki and the only thing you should know about crime in the city is to stay away from bars at night, but the crime in this situation is also very rare. 

1. Reykjavik, Iceland

The safest city to travel to has to be Reykjavík, Iceland. A city where crime is so rare over 2/3 of the crime here is through traffic offences. The only notable risk to safety here is the volcanoes, but it is not of a high risk to travellers.
